Review: Can Kids Listen To Weezer's VAN WEEZER?

Weezer is back with their fifteenth studio album VAN WEEZER, and fans are embracing it just like they did with the other fourteen. The only question left unanswered is whether or not kids can listen.

While some songs on this album are squeaky clean, others most certainly aren't. The song with the most adult themes is "1 More Hit", which references (however does not glorify), lead vocalist Rivers Cuomo's past struggle with drugs and inability to regulate casual sex. The chorus is as follows: "Could I have one more hit? / I promise I'll quit / This s--t ain't good for me / I really need one more hit / And I'll be good / You really shouldn't go cold turkey / Cold turkey".

Some uses of mild profanity are present on the album. "All the Good Ones" contains the word "damn". Both "I Need Some of That" and "1 More Hit" contain "s--t". All songs not listed by title in this review do not contain adult language.
